State of the Blog

A new year is upon us. Meaning it's time to ramble about this blog.

Contrary to my stated goals for 2007, the number of posts decreased in the past 365 days as compared to the previous 365. For that, I apologize.

To perhaps deal with the problem, I am making a quantifiable goal resolution to average a post every four days. That's not a firm number, but I'll try to use it as a guideline.

Additionally, traffic levels continued to be embarrassingly low. Like, 10 hits a day slow. At this point, I think it's clear I'm doing something wrong. However, it's great that it's usually 10 cool people that I know and love.

Also, 2007's photo montage (at left) looks even worse than 2006's similarly thrown-together monstrosity.

But '07 did bring a number of good things. Unknown Knowns and Other Ramblings was rechristened as Slaunchways and I think the switch to the new format and slaunchways.com has been a large improvement (correct me if I'm wrong here).

Additionally, '07 saw this blogger's first forays into video-making and podcasting. Hopefully, those areas will become more creative and frequent. Quit laughing.

If you're reading this, thanks for sticking with me this far. I hope 2008 is the best yet. Much as I hoped 2007 would be. And 2006, too.

Anyway, best of luck to you on your resolutions if you haven't given up on them already.

Slaunchways 2007 has been a word feast - - even more so than 2006! Your montage doesn't even come close to doing it justice - - how could you possibly capture a year of creativity that easily?????
Looking forward to at least 90 posts in 2008!!
-with love from one of the proud 10
