Targeting Customers

Typically, I'm a big fan of Target, but a month or so back, they ran the creepiest ad ever. I still have residual willies.

Take a look.

Now I'm sure that in real life the people in the advertisement are actually kind, fun, and good-hearted folks, but am I the only one thinking that in this shot, their facial expressions reek of demonic possession or something? Maybe it's just fake smiles gone wrong, but seriously - they give me a super eerie vibe.

If you aren't detecting their ominous aura, perhaps my captioned version will help you see the light. Or I guess in this case, I guess technically speaking, the darkness. As always, click for a larger view.

"Just wait till you see what we have 'IN STORE' for you!!!"

Heck, I almost fear for my safety posting this.

I may be all alone on this one, but keep in mind this is the same company who wants to tuck you in at night. Seriously.

I can actually see the places where they removed that guy's horns!
Have you recorded any of the wake-up calls?

I don't know, maybe you have been watching too much FX or SCI-FI channel. I do agree though your pix is pretty scary.

Carol: Thank goodness someone else saw that! I'll have to find a way to get my hands on one of Target's beddy-by lullaby. Cuz that sounds all kinds of weird.

Johnny: By most folks' definitions, any Sci-Fi is too much. :D I have to admit I'm kinda hooked on a couple of their shows.

Amanda: Ha ha ha - I was hoping you would weigh in with your Target expertise. Have you seen their TV ads lately? They have really gone off the creepy/bizarre end too! Still can't beat their sweet music prices though.

Ben: You know I was kidding when I said I was going to slowly roast you over an open fire, right? :D
