Time to curb the drinking...

Police reports can be interesting. Especially when they include stuff like this:

I'll be honest - it took me a minute to figure out the sentence's actual intent (which I believe is "Subject attacked in the vicinity of a curb"). But I mean, can't you see some drunk slurring, "I didn't fall - the curb hit me!"?

I understand report verbiage is low on the law enforcement priority list, but I shudder to think of the precedent that could develop.

For example, what if the incident had occurred in a backyard?
SUBJECT ASSAULTED BY GARDEN GNOMES?

While shopping for a vehicle?
SUBJECT HARASSED BY USED CAR DEALERSHIP?

A restaurant?
SUBJECT DETAINED BY DUMB-WAITER?

Maybe it's just me, but it seems like a crisis waiting to happen.

P.S. If you haven't been checking out the links on the right-hand side under the heading "In other news," you're probably missing out.

What happens at a party when there's an altercation with the "punch"?

Anon: Don't let your guard down around those things.

DX: An outstanding question! Glad to see I'm not the only one concerned.
