After these messages...

While I work on putting the finishing touches on a few different things, I thought you all would enjoy this bit of headline genius sent in by Unknown Knowns reader (and recent contest winner) Carol:

Study links the most sunburn to the most education and money

Those with incomes equal to or greater than $50,000 were more likely to report getting a sunburn than those in the lowest income strata -- less than $20,000 -- 47 percent vs. 28 percent. And those with a college degree reported a higher incidence of sunburn than those without a high school degree -- 43 percent vs. 25 percent.
As Carol put it:
"This would seem to indicate that real rednecks make over 50K and have a college degree."

Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go put on some tanning lotion.

I just want to know - what genius comes up with these studies??
Probably someone with too much time on their hands - time enough to sunbathe, even...

I'd like to see the survey method and understand it's biases, limitations and correlations because I suspect:

a: Poorer people who work outside in the sun probably never get diagnosed

b: People with higher incomes are in the rat race more, nicer house, nicer car, nicer tan, etc.

Maybe that sunburn I got a few weeks ago will really pay off!

And you really should watch Farscape. It's delightful. The miniseries at the end had me in tears. Three times.
