Why I feel compelled to post this, I don't know, but I've been mulling over this idea for a while now.
It all started a few months ago with a conversation between my step-dad and I about something that had something to do with race (then again, maybe it didn't because I don't really remember...). Regardless, as the conversation progressed, we started joking about white stereotypes.* Before either of us knew what was happening, bad pun led to bad pun, and to make a relatively short story shorter, we ended up with the following (though admittedly our joshing did not include an actual image, just the slogan):
I think the picture speaks for itself.
I was going to close by wishing everyone a good Friday, but as it's not Easter weekend, I'm pretty sure I'd be breaking some kind of rule. So, have a pretty awesome Friday instead.
*DISCLAIMER #1: Despite the joking, CJ does think there are serious problems with white stereotypes. The pervasive societal view of lower-class white people as stupid, wife-beating, alcoholic, racist hicks is simply unfair and needs to be changed.
**DISCLAIMER #2: Disclaimer #1 is not meant in any way, shape, or form, to imply that CJ believes the white population is (as a whole) less fortunate than minority groups. One look at the evidence tells you that the U.S. has some troubling racial inequalities. And I'll let you in on a secret: it's pretty much *not* the white people getting screwed.
***DISCLAIMER #3: If CJ catches anyone honking because they love white supremacy, he may take the liberty of running them off the road. Seriously.
****DISCLAIMER #4: CJ would not actually run anyone off the road, even if they were a racist. In all honesty, that wouldn't be right or solve much of anything.
*****DISCLAIMER #5: CJ has no idea who the guy in the picture is. CJ found him by chance.
******DISCLAIMER #6: CJ swears he did not touch a drop of the beer in his hands.
