An Interview with Alvin

Well, it's getting towards that time again - that time when people start breaking out those Christmas albums, picking up the early presents, and starting up the generators for those massive amounts of gaudy glowing decorations.

After some thought, I decided Unknown Knowns could use an expert's opinion on the whole Christmas culture thing. An expert even more qualified than Mr. Mosty. So, I decided to call up Alvin the Chipmunk - yes, that Alvin the Chipmunk for an interview about the Christmas season. My time spent with him in the Unknown Knowns radio studio yielded a candid, if unexpected set of answers. Check it out!

The Chipmunks (from left to right) Simon, Theodore, and Alvin,
who sat down for anUnknown Knowns (Slaunchways)

NOTE: The file is a little big, so if you're on a slower internet connection,
it might take a bit to load.

A few credits: Thanks to Jason Hills' blog entry about Christmas music for the inspiration, free and incredibly useful Audacity for the audio recording and mixing, the Internet Archive for hosting the audio files, and most importantly, Ross Bagdasarian Sr. for creating the Chipmunks (whose estate owns all Chipmunks rights, I should add). As an added disclaimer, I should probably just clearly state that it wasn't the real Alvin I was interviewing. As if you all didn't know that.

Great! especially about 3/4 of the way through when you and Alvin were laughing. Amazingly enough I was too.

The versatality of Unknown Knowns continues to amaze us all.
That interview was awesome! (if it only didn't take so long to load, it'd be perfect!)
How DO we get the word out so more out there can benefit??????

Maybe Mr Mosty can give us some insight on the longivity of Alvin and his friends when the average lifespan of a chipmunk is only 3 to 5 years. Maybe this could be covered in a future interview?

I am glad you were able to interview Alvin. I think I still have some of his records, Ahh the good old days.

I'll forgive you for not posting at all during the summer if you continue to come up with stuff like this. Keep it up! Unknown Knowns radio is going to be a big hit, I can tell...

Genius. I'll have to re-think some of my metrosexual styled sweaters this season...
