In Search of Cute Little Ponies?

EDITOR'S NOTE: Back in early 2006, Google Images had my March 2005 archive page as a top hit whenever you searched for "my little pony" or something like that. I was honest-to-goodness pulling in about 20 hits a day from people expecting to see ponies here.

Of course, there were no ponies.

The actual image Google Images said was here was one I had only linked to in a previous post. Why they were sent here, I dunno. I stuck this page at the top of the archive in hopes of getting people to stick around after they realized thar be no cuteness here.

If you're viewing this page, you were probably searching Google Images for pictures of everyone's favorite rainbow-colored horsies, Hasbro's own, My Little Pony collection.

Unfortunately, there are no pictures of little ponies on this site. Let alone girly pink ones. In fact, Unknown Knowns and Other Ramblings is a proud member of the Not My Little Pony web ring.*

Guys like myself were fans of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Sonic the Hedgehog as kids; the guys who liked My Little Ponies as children are currently living in our nation's fine mental institutions.**

But to make a long story short, I'm afraid Google has lied to you: there is no "image in its original context on the page" - all you will find is this post linking to this picture. In fact, despite Google's assertions to the contrary, the original image context is only found here, at

Unknown Knowns and Other Ramblings regrets the confusion.

**Slight exaggeration, though I did nearly lose my mind visiting the official My Little Pony website.
