Arafat is dead, but stay tuned...

Arafat, Icon of Palestinian Cause, Dead at 75
Well I guess finally the wondering is over. For a while there, I figured they would just classify him as one of the "undead" and move on. How hard should it be to determine whether or not a guy has kicked the can?! We may have high prescription drug prices, but I'm proud to say that in America, we know when somebody's bought the farm *cue national anthem*. I mean, I saw some of the dumbest headlines throughout this thing. Look at this one:

Arafat not in coma but 'sleeping' in intensive care, spokesman says; more medical tests conducted
What, did they get that from "Bambi" or something?! "Oh, he's not dead, he's just sleeping!" Riiight.

And check out these:

Yasser Arafat 'Dead' - Palestinian sources say
Kaumundi Online - Nov 09 8:47 PM Palestinian President Yasser Arafat is dead, senior Palestinian political sources said on Tuesday.
PLO Leader Yassar Arafat Dies
KOLD News 13 Tuscon - Nov 10 10:21 PM Palestinian Leader Yassar Arafat died Wednesday night in a Paris hospital, according to three Palestinian officials.
Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat dead at 75
Quad City Times - 29 minutes ago RAMALLAH, West Bank - Yasser Arafat, revered as the champion of Palestinian statehood and reviled as a terrorist, died Thursday at the age of 75.

Seriously, this thing dragged on longer than the stupid 2000 election controversies. Speaking of which, one official said that the real reason Arafat's final struggle lasted so long was due to Mrs. Arafat's insistence that the doctors recount her husband's pulse.

Judge Removes Foreman From Peterson Jury
All I can say is that it's about blooming time. Throughout this trial, people have been talking about the "circus-type" atmosphere, and enough drama fit to fill a Hollywood production. Well, I have to ask what did you expect?! When you have George Foreman on your jury, it's just gonna be weird.

I saw a similar article with a title like: Arafat still alive: brain, heart and lungs functioning.
CJ, you crack me up. I've been reading some of the archives too. My favorite one is “Kids need help staying slim” and my favorite link is the mulberry bush and “should slavery be legal?”

Entertaining commentary on Arafat, but the foreman/Foreman thing in the Peterson trial sounded like a 3 a.m. rambling...
